Hello! If you want to know how to say something else, email me or place a comment on the blog! :)
And for those of you who want to know how to say hello in the Rader language . . . .
Kantrysyn
is hello(informal) and Kantryn is hello(formal); they are both a play
on the original form of the noun: Kan . . . You say Kantrysyn: kăntrīsěn,
and Kantryn is: kăntrěn. So, just a little tip for you in the Rader
language. Then, there’s good bye(informal); in the Rader language, good
bye to your friend is the only prose with a good connotation; the other
seems to hint at something else. Thus, good bye(informal) is Eontzion
lysencoour: ēyōntzīǒn līsěncūr or you can pronounce it as yōntzīǒn
lēsěncūr. Remember that the first part of this phrase is accented in
“eont”, while you say the “zion” part with a quick tongue. These are
both plays on the word good: zion (which can also mean clear in some
cases) and bye: lysensie.
How did you make a different language?
Rader language: basically, if you can study a few different languages and their structures, you have a pretty good knowledge of how sentences work already...all you have to do is take you basic structure that you want and start with your words (really foundational words such as the and a). Then, the verbs come next, transforming and conjugating them in accordance to their subject. It is complicated in a sense, but don't worry! I put footnotes in their for you! :)
Why doesn't Xavier like water?
Oh yes, this is definitely a frequently asked question. Xavier is a very different race of person; the Shilen, first of all, were taken into Nyros because they had a certain knowledge of the dragon's stone. Arkt wanted them to be veiled from this reality, so he took them and clouded their view by manipulative forces. Xavier, being Phasen's son (Phasen being a Syfrin by force), was beaten almost to death by his father, as I've written before. Xavier was plunged under rushing rivers for minutes on end, where blood would start to fill his lungs. All this so that he could be forced into a Syfrin, but what made him decline this "easily accepted" way of life for something more, something that would punish and maybe end the very breath in his lungs? So the answer to the heading is simply: he doesn't want to drown.
Seriously, what's the big deal about Syfrin?
These guys are pretty nasty creatures. Rebuilt from every race of people, their whole soul is taken and manipulated into something so foreign that they don't even remember anything of their past; they don't even have to means to get to their past anymore. A Syfrin has one duty, and one duty only: kill and don't give any mercy whatsoever. Their charge is to torture and lengthen the pain of their prey. They won't stop until they find you, and when they do: they will probably sick their Syfeklen on you, but that's another story....
Structure of the Book
Since the book is coming out in February, I should tell you a little bit about it! There are two "Chapter 0"s. These chapters are before and after the main story. These both give you a little insight into what's going to happen next. For instance: the first chapter 0 deals with what happened before the first chapter and what's going to happen next. The last chapter 0, really chapter 32, deals with what happens after Arint Saratir: Warrior's Light comes to a close, giving you an idea for the sequel: A Krintary Ne Klementios.
Arint Saratir: Warrior's Light
What does Arint Saratir mean? Simple as "Dragon Rider" in the Rader language. "Saratir" is dragon, referring to the internal confines of a dragon's character and mind, while the "Arint" of the prose infers an attachment to the dragon as by a force that is inescapably acute and unable to be intercepted. Thus the phrase "Arint Saratir" means "dragon rider" in a nutshell, where the rhetoric tells its whole story if you just listen.A dragon's egg
When a rider is first born, by the race of Arqyn, the rider's thoughts are the first things that are active. These small thoughts then send a wave into the center of the earth, pulsing through the world's crevices as they beat upon the "shore" of their world. And as they begin to roll upon the surface, they find that they have been cultivating a small stone-like object: just like the waves in an ocean wash against a shell. The rider's thoughts have made the egg a tangible object, molded by his very character into the contents of an egg; but only one thing is known to the egg alone: whether or not their rider is meant for greatness or for the time when darkness takes over the earth. Or is it really a dragon's egg that this is describing? Or is it, rather, the only word that you would understand at this point?
